Blackfeather Woods Stray Heart

She had not heard Kove's low chuff that would have alerted her of his presence. Instead, her head was kept down, still deep in her own thoughts. While he had placed himself beside her, walking in the same rhythm as she, it took her a few moments to noticed the other set of paws treading beside hers. Looking up from her state, she met the eyes of Kove, and flinched out of shock. The very being that had been troubling her mind now walked alongside her, though once again did her mind settle in his company, She liked walking with him, not alone to the ramblings of her mind and not with someone who quite frankly annoyed her, no. Kove brung a wave of calm when he arrived, unlike the chaotic world they were living in.

She wanted to shout at his question and go no and on about how he had cause her current state of emotional stress. Instead, she sighed shaking her head. Instinctively, she found herself merging herself closer to him as they walked, though, she just let it be. It was so tiring to fight everything she had believed about happiness before. Besides, there was a big difference between liking someone and loving them. She could tolerate liking him, but loving, she would not let herself fall that hard. It was the very bottom, the brink of her restrain. Love was futile, and something she had already cleared up that she didn't need. "How are you?" She redirected the starter to him, for she had enough of thinking about her. 

Maybe if she learnt more about him she could allow herself to like him just a bit more. But, they were technically strangers, and she could never permit herself to feel compassionate about someone she hardly knew. The tone of voice she asked suggested that she was looking for a little more than just his current state of health, but how he actually was inside. As much as she wanted to know more about him, she wouldn't push it. His privacy was his own, and she would respect it as he had to her.
