He didn't disagree with her (somewhat scattered) thoughts on the matter. He actually seemed to appreciate her feedback. When Tevinter further elaborated on his issues, another thought popped in her head to join the dozens of others, clamoring for attention. But again she waited patiently, letting him speak his turn, before adding anything else—and acknowledging the intimate gesture that had just passed between them.

Pulling backward, she cleared her throat as the intimacy of it suddenly caused her to flush a little. "Ummm," she began, shaking her head silently for a long moment before remembering to answer him, "I prefer the word 'troubled,'" Wildfire quipped a bit awkwardly, amber eyes lingering on that livid scar on his face as if to ground herself and remind Wildfire that this wasn't Floki and she should probably keep her tongue to herself.

"Stop putting yourself down," she chided, entirely forgetting her earlier thought. "If you want to be a leader, you have to own everything you say and do, and act confident." She was poking fun, a little bit, and then she abruptly remembered and blurted, "Tev, have you thought of founding your own pack? It sort of sounds to me like Beta probably wouldn't be good enough anyway." And both Alpha slots were taken. It didn't occur to her—at the moment, anyhow—that Tevinter could challenge that.

"Not," she continued with an accompanying intake of breath, "that I want to see you leave. I don't. But from an outside perspective, it just seems like something you should consider," Wildfire finished with an airy shrug. She was now having a bit of trouble looking at him but she bit her bottom lip and dragged her eyes upward to gauge his expression, see what he thought of that idea.
