Not that she necessarily needed to redeem herself—she had proved useful in other ways—but it still felt good, gaining Charon's approval and praise in one fell swoop after being declared rubbish in the past. Between that and the upcoming double date slash strat chat, the Gamma felt a warmth flickering in her chest.

He announced that he would go consult with Ame, so Wildfire dipped her smudged snout. "See you later, Charon," she said simply, watching him head off to find his partner in crime. She thought of doing the very same, then remembered she had just left him not too long ago. Smiling to herself, Wildfire remembered that she had intended to hunt, so she set off again in search of prey, her steps light and bouncy.
