Altar of Twilight Kindred Spirits

An approach was inevitable, Wildfire knew, and while she could tolerate the presence of another female, she wasn't exactly in the right frame of mind for conversation or company. She stood there stonily as the unfamiliar she-wolf made her way closer, holding her ground and placing one paw possessively over her kill.

The other wolf was small, with gray fur and deep brown eyes. Unlike Wildfire, she looked to be in perfect fighting shape. She did not appear threatening in any way. In fact, she offered to help. Wildfire blinked down at herself, assessing injuries new and old, before looking vaguely at a spot just over the stranger's shoulder.

"No," she answered simply. "Thanks," she added after an awkward beat. "I'm just going to take this someplace..." she said in the next breath, making no offer to share her spoils as she latched her teeth on the coyote's bloodied scruff and prepared to drag it toward a nearby overhang.
