Stupidly, the yearling didn't realize the connection between leadership and the position offered to her, in spite of the obvious segue. She only saw that Thuringwethil needed support and felt that she, of all wolves, should be the wind beneath her wings. With no idea what she was actually signing up for, she immediately breathed, "Sure. Yes. Of course. I'd be honored." And that was the truth. She felt a warmth bloom in her chest at the acknowledgement from the woman who was both her commander and her companion.
