Seeing that his hearing was slowly becoming a thing, he did catch some of the screech coming from Laurel. Tapat however didn't know that. He was so buried against his mother's fur he was mostly smelling that and her wonderful milk. The sudden sound, but mostly the vibrations was what startled him. He started to cry out too and pressed himself more against his mother. He almost wanted to crawl under her.

The pale babe slowly calmed himself down, mostly because he forgot why he was crying out. He was warm and cozy and not very hungry so he quieted down again. He was snugly buried between the warm furs of his mother, pretty much content again. When he did relax he also released some of his pee right where he was laying, creating a surprisingly big wet patch of soil under him. In return that would make his pale coat dirty again.
