Amber's words seemed to be neither for nor against Grayday's plan. That was fine. It seemed like both his companions were a little burned out, and Day didn't feel it was necessary to push either of them into making any big decisions. Maybe it'd been a little rash of him to even suggest Dagfinn accompany them, but the boy had been clearly distraught and it'd seemed like a good idea at the time.

Now, though, he wasn't so sure. Amber seemed nervous about him coming along. He'd have to do something about that sooner or later.

"Why don't we just rest for a second. I traveled a long way to get here, and we'll all need our strength to get back," he said gently, looking mostly at Amber as he spoke but definitely meaning the exhausted young wolf more than his new mate.
