Day's nose twitched as the woman went and laid down, a familiar milk-scent whooshing over his face. It sent a harsh pang through his chest, but he merely shook it off, sending it flying from him like the dust off his pelt. He didn't feel like thinking about Amber, even though the rest of the world was intent on sending him reminders.

"Her name's Selkie," Day replied, thinking back to the conversation he'd observed between her and Steady. He didn't know if the woman would be sticking around, and honestly, he didn't really care. But as long as she was pack, Day was obliged to care for her, and that meant making sure she didn't freeze to death. "I don't know if she's found a place yet. Maybe you could ask her." He wasn't going to track her down. He would, however, wait here a bit longer to see if she showed up. "What's your family like?" Day asked, partially to be polite and partially because he was curious about the milk-scent. He wouldn't ask directly (it was probably a sad story), but he did want to know.
