Moonspear is this what you dreamed, then?

most likely, it was the rigour of travelling, combined with the fact that days ago, she had been in such close quarters to her ill brother. never the less, the girl was ill, and though not serious, it seriously hindered her ability to shriek her frustration and toddle in any given direction without warning, as she had recently learned to do. her nose dripped, and much of her energy was consumed by the illness, but still, the girl vented her discomfort with a rapidly widening range of acoustics. 

she had been occupying an uncomfortable half-sleep for a time, until suddenly her paws encountered the ground again. she made to stand on her own, albeit without much grace, and was about the shriek her discomfort when her mother made to cover her in affection and kisses, something which she found felt rather good. jaws snapping shut before they could utter a sound, and squirming happily beneath her mother's touch, she was silent. 

silent, that was, before her mother targets her affections to another. slighted by this betrayal, the girl's maw snapped open and she shrieked again, butting her head against her mother's feather limbs with demands that she shower her with affection once more.
