This close, he could see her as perfectly as he ever could, and she was breathtaking. Her eyes - apple green - were clear and bright. Her muzzle - finely tappered - was graceful and smooth. Day's eyes dragged across her face, up and over it to the tips of her pointed, red-tinged ears.

Day's heart thudded unevenly. He let his eyes flicker shut.
