With his encouragement, Liffey then took some time to sample the scents of the forest. While she did this, Rannoch watched on hopefully as she investigated further in an attempt to seek what he had requested of her. He remained silent as she did this and instead lingered as a supportive front, his expression of hopefulness never wavering as he observed. 

When Liffey finally did look up, the man's expression brightened. "Let's see what we find," prompted Rannoch with a wave of his tail out of encouragement, hoping that she would then lead to the way to find whatever she had smelled.
