Ty simultaneously released the corpse and shrunk back at the white wolf's snarl, but she didn't tuck her tail and run. She knew there was a balance to play here, and she had every intention of playing it. Ty watched from a few feet away, tail twitching as she inched forward again. There was no way either of them could finish this buck on their own, and drawing out the process would only invite other predators into the mix would mean less for the both of them.

Again, Ty slunk forward and tugged on the side opposite of the stranger, hoping this time she could dislodge a piece of flesh and get it into her belly as quickly as possible.
