Tytonidae had no desire for a fight; she merely wanted food to fill her belly. She slunk back again when the white wolf slammed a paw on the carcass and snarled. What happened next was not something the Vasanta expected. Instead of chasing her off or continuing to play this game of tug-o-war, the white wolf tore off a foreleg of the dead creature and offered it to her. Ty didn't really understand why it had been done, but she wasn't about to pause to figure that out.

She lurched forward, wary growl once again rumbling in her chest, and ripped the foreleg free from the buck. It wasn't the best meat, but it was a meal, and Ty dragged it away from the main corpse to feast upon it. The sounds of flesh tearing, bones splintering, and lips smacking were the only ones she would be making until she managed to devour the entire thing.
