Day stepped closer, an serious but earnest expression on his face. "I'm not accusing you of anything," he assured, wanting to correct her misunderstanding. "I know how hard it can be to adjust to new faces and different territories, changing situations... I know what it's like to miss people, too."
He fell silent for a moment, wondering how much he wanted to share about his own past. In the end, he decided that he didn't need to talk about it unless she asked; he could get his point across without looking like a martyr. "I'm just worried about you, Gwen. The worst thing you can do right now is draw into yourself. Wolves aren't meant to be alone," he said firmly, shooting her another serious look. "I'm glad to hear that you're trying - that's all I can ask of you."
