Wildfire's worries gave way to a chuckle of amusement as she watched the pair of wolves launch themselves at the flock. The gulls easily evaded their snapping jaws by taking wing. They formed a whirlwind over their heads for a moment or two, their cacophonous cries enough to cause the mother's ears to bend backward. But soon they were wheeling away down the coastline, quite out of reach.

Bobby came bounding up to her with a feather in his mouth. "That's a nice souvenir there," she said fondly, licking between his eyes. She glanced over his head to Arlo and shook her head. "You know, seagulls are sort of stringy anyway. Why don't we see if we can track something a little... meatier?" She wiggled her eyebrows at her son, then smiled at Arlo to make sure he knew he was included.

With something new on the menu, the Feisripa took point again, leading her two counterparts away from the shore and back into the woods. She was determined to make a catch of some sort (feathers excluded) so that Bobby could experience a successful hunt. Only when they accomplished that would she take him back to rejoin his brother and sister in Hougeda.
