He thanked her and she smiled in response, but it quickly faded as he made no move to eat the leaves. She did not press him, however, as much as she knew she should do. She had never suffered — nor tended to — an injury as severe as this and had no idea if even a simple task such as eating was painful. He would when he was ready, she reminded herself, glad to at least see him talking. It gave her a chance to find out more about this mysterious man.
She settled onto her stomach with front legs outstretched to mirror Rannoch's own posture, enjoying the moment in the sun as she had been stuck in the dark den while watching over her patient. Is this how Amekaze felt with the pups? The excruciatingly slow lift of his brows and groggy words would have been amusing under any other circumstance, but it only caused further worry for Lyra. At least he had received Charon's blessing. Not that she thought her father would turn away the man; Charon seemed to know everyone this side of the Wilds.
"Good," she said with a nod of her head. Though she had ten million other questions, Rannoch looked like he was about to pass out again then and there. "You can go back to sleep if you want," she said, offering a friendly smile, though she sort of hoped he wouldn't.
