Vaati risks everything in venturing beyond the safety of the dark woods, but he must for the sake of others. His mother doesn't hunt anymore, never mind willingly feed herself. Vaati is among a small cluster of others to provide food for those who cannot, and those who cannot outweigh those who can drastically. But the scent of fresh blood soon mixes in with that of another man, and as he draws closer, the sight of another having already feasted upon what he had been tracking causes his nose to flare out of simple frustration. Time was off the essence to ensure none of his enemies caught his scent, and having wasted his time searching for another's meal wasted valuable minutes. He chuffs lowly to alert the other that he is there, but lacks the aggression the other may have inferred about his presence. Vaati is in no position to make foolish mistakes when he is still living the consequence of former, childish delusions.
