Yeah, Laurel was nothing like Indra. Indra was warm and sweet and gentle, while Laurel could piss off the pope. Did it matter why there was someone watching over Reigi? Everyone deserved a guardian and seeing as no one else was willing to do the job, Blondine had stepped up to the plate. What was so wrong with that? Had the dark-furred girl not been in the making of her speedy approach, Blondine might have Laurel a thing or two about common decency. 

Blondine's head whipped around as her eye grew wide with both shock and relief. Reigi was safe, but she was different. The thing around her neck was unlike anything Blondine had ever seen, and she had seen a lot.
