He caught the shift in her demeanor to play almost immediately, and there was a glint in his eyes as he pulled back, readying. She was quickly able to grasp the end with her head start, but he had clenched, and so the game began!
This was another reason Hydra ranked so high in Gannet's list of favorites; she didn't hide from him, at least not that he could tell. Generally he knew what she was thinking, and it made her far easier to be around than others he had previously met. It was a stark contrast from her sisters, who always seemed guarded and aloof.
He let out a small encouraging growl, stirring the pot a bit, and pressed forward, hoping to make her step back and maybe unbalance.
