Bat's brow furrowed at Tux's question, taking it quite seriously. "Code," she reported after a solid ten seconds of consideration. She wanted to describe it otherwise, though she was so young that she simply lacked the vocabulary to explain how it sort of tingled against her teeth before trickling down her throat, chilly the entire way, even when it hit her belly.
She tipped her head again, prepared to catch some more raindrops to wash down her heavy lunch. But what had begun as a gentle sprinkle quickly increased, becoming more of a proper downpour. Undeterred, the Goufa closed both her eyes and her mouth and just let the water beat against her face. She wanted to describe this to Tux too but it was even more indescribable than a single drop to the tongue.
Out of nowhere, something grabbed her by the scruff. Bat's eyes flew open and she gave a token peep of protest but let her mother carry her into the den. As Wildfire leaped back out to gather Tux as well, Bat gave her head a little shake, flinging cold droplets against the wooden walls. Reacting to some deeply-ingrained instinct, she cocked her head and then shuddered with an odd laugh as cold water trickled from where it had collected in her satellite dish of an ear.
