The Sunspire slowing down (long time coming)

"Better," Rannoch agreed, "Means that you won't need your cast anymore." Rannoch motioned for the reeds that secured her leg; he was trying his best to put his thoughts into phrases that Wisteria could understand. 

Wisp lurched forward suddenly, with a defiant reach towards her cast and Rannoch's muzzle wrinkled unhappily. "Wisteria," he repeated, his voice firmer. While she presumably kept her hold on the reeds, Rannoch glanced around the den to see if there was anything that he could use to distract her. He found something of interest—an abandoned horse hoof not too far away from where the family slept— and turned towards his daughter with a smile. 

"You want something else to chew on, hm? Rannoch asked, hoping that the hoof could be the middle ground for them both. "I think I found something you miiiiight like."
