The faintest of smiles traced her features, corners of her lips tilting upward only a touch as she stared at him - the ghost of her happiness, returning to haunt her as the assassin spoke. The fallen queen observed as his own head quirked to the east, watching for something she did not know; he was an intruiging creature, fur blacker than night and eyes so vivid, and she began to wonder what it was he was seeking out there, in all the nothingness.
Her pondering longed for an answer, and soon enough one came - the dove continued to watch him, ears flicking further forward to take in his words. Her eyes of cerulean began to widen a fraction, the surprise lighting her delicate face as the moon did on a quiet night; she appeared even more etheral than before, caught in a moment of unpredictability. Perhaps it was the way he phrased the words, falling as a chilled whisper from his tongue so close, but she was suddenly taken back to a place she had missed so dearly. It was a sudden blast of deja-vu, and yet still it was unique.
I have plans for us to run away together. She could see it already, the gentle curve of his muzzle, the movement of his lips as he spoke the words from her past, eyes glittering - Knew's words, but from another. She recalled the light tingling in her paws, the rush of exhileration that came with the freedom of his request, and it seemed to ignite something within her chest, something few could provide.
The man turned to meet her eyes, and within them she could feel the intensity of what he was asking her, the pressure of what lay behind his appeal, but she did not falter. The Eruna had a decision to make, and with it came the changing of her whole path, the direction of her life - what would she pick? Her options were silently weighed, but beneath the surface her mind had already chosen, had already selected the winner from amongst the battle. The void prince was offering her a new life, a new start and a new domain to birth. Somewhere, deep in her heart, she felt a sliver of recklessness, of excitement and hope; in reality, there was no question. She knew, and perhaps it was time to try and move on.
"Cry..." The whisper twirled from her muzzle so elegantly, a spark behind her voice that was a rare occurance to witness - she met his eyes and held the silence for a moment as their hearts beat in tune, the rhythmic sounding of drums against their chests. "... I would love nothing more than to join you."
