Ah! The confirmation that this was Steelhead, the once-lost brother, allowed Seelie to relax a fraction. She was happy to know that the brothers had been reunited here on her island. What concerned her was the lurking anxiousness in Steelhead that she had not detected in his brother. Experience told her that nervous wolves were not altogether to be trusted, and while she did not find Steelhead to be an overt threat, she bade her children through a mixture of gestures and mouthed words to bear the fish-gift to their father. They complied, a sixteen-legged knot of fluffy fur, each of them jostling to help carry it, and Seelie watched them fondly before inviting Steelhead for a seaside walk-and-talk.
