With Grezig's return, the leader felt the need to escape.

There was hostility between them - no, that wasn't quite right. There was distance.

She assumed the woman to be jealous of her, she had a higher position in the pack and was married to the man the Beta loved. There was not much the healer could do for her, besides stepping down and giving up her mate, so she sought a respite from the tension that had developed between them. 

It had been sometime since she had been to the sea and this was not the ocean of the north. It was warmer, far more welcoming than the icy waters of her homelands. The cries of sea dogs welcomed her as she left the mountains behind - a northern spirit out of place on the foggy beach. 

The sylph's speckled muzzle lowered, jaws parted to detect scent better, following the scent of the ocean's lions to a sandy knoll where she settled to watch them idly.
