Shadewood Just a little taste

This is meant specifically for @Bronwen so please give this two days for them to post before anyone else joins

He wasnt old enough to ponder deeply but he knew how to make observations and he was extremely good at connecting his many observations and putting together reasonably accurate thoughts. For example, he'd always thought his mother to be like the physical form of how nursing made him feel which was happiness. She had started to wean them off of being nursed but it confused him, what was he to eat? The regurgitated meat was okay but he wanted the milk. Momma had seemed unhappy lately and he didn't want to bother her by asking for it when she had already told him a bunch that he had to wait for the meat. He had seen Daddy go out and bring back food so he assumed that if he went somewhere he would find someone who would give him milk.


He had been wandering around for five minutes before he tripped over a rock and rolled into a bush with thorns. One stabbed through his still soft paw and he began to bleed, the vivid color making him freeze. It was beautiful and for some reason he felt possessive over that single droplet of blood. It grew in size and he sat mesmerized as suddenly it slid down his paw and dropped to the leaves below him. The red against the green made him smile happily and he looked down at his paw nipping it and watching with satisfaction as it dripped more freely onto the leaves, making tiny splatting sounds as it ran and dropped off every leaf. All the while Valour sat with a smile, silently holding his bleeding paw over the plant.
