Kaertok was no stranger to rank challenges, having grown up in a pack that taught sparring from a young age. He was not, however, accustomed to being challenged by somebody he did not know well. Derg, whom Kaertok knew by sight and name, but not much else, was the wolf who wished for his rank, and Kaertok was not about to give it up without a fight. Injury would not be his objective, but keeping his rank most certainly would be. He arrived standing tall and with his ears pushed forward, readying himself. There was still time for Derg to back down, if he so wished, but Kaertok doubted that would happen.
