I don’t want to replace them, just…” The yearling struggled to articulate what exactly she meant. She wasn’t even sure she fully understood the desires of her own heart yet.

Something she did know for sure: she appreciated making this connection, no matter how spontaneously. ”I want to meet more wolves, like you,” Harps admitted. ”Not exactly like you.” She doubted there was anyone quite like Erzulie. ”But you know what I mean, right?”
