here comes the sun.

A new home, that was an odd concept. Kalden had ranged far in the past, but only to prove he could. Being in the nearly blue fields of this unfamiliar mountain was exhilarating to say the least, but it was incredibly jarring. The journey to their new home in the short weeks after he and Piper had met and whirled into true adulthood had been eye opening. Hunting was a great deal more difficult when literally nothing could be relied on but oneself.

At least the pack had been more than welcoming to the happy couple. Even the little area Kalden had claimed - the view of the gigantic lakes in the area was spectacular. Some pines and spindly other trees gave just enough weather guarding to keep him calm about the coming months. But a gentle nudge at his belly reminded the stoic male that he was not alone. Certainly not alone, what a feeling.

Piper's creamy, light fur was firmly at his side, with the question of a den lingering in the air. Oh, right. Shelter. Time to dig.

"Very right, Piper. I just about forgot. There, under those big trees will do great. How's the view here?" Without truly waiting for a reply, Kalden set about his den digging in earnest. Had to keep his little wolf warm tonight.
