Wayfarer responded to his gesture by rolling dramatically onto her back and huffing. Veteran wagged his tail hopefully. This was progress.. right? 'Cause she like.. moved.. and stuff..?

One of the other kids appeared with the best pelt ever clenched in his jaws. As he walked, the sun glimmered off of the pelt's dark, luscious fur. Veteran looked back and forth between his sister and the newcomer, knowing that there was absolutely no way that Wayfarer would be able to resist such a prize-- especially when the kid plopped down right beside them, and the beautiful pelt was within easy reach...

..And Wayfarer did nothing. She didn't even move when the kid shook the pelt, practically begging someone to take it from him. Veteran's little puppy face contorted in confusion. Well if Wayfarer wasn't going to do anything about this, he was! He wriggled over to the newcomer and reached for the mink fur tentatively, testing the other's kids boundaries.
