Nephele closed her eyes.

Power isn’t something I know, Germanicus. My life has been a serious of decisions others made for me, that I was lucky to be tenacious enough to live through. Even my names haven’t been mine. She opened her eyes. She couldn’t possibly know she could trust Germanicus, but she wanted to hear someone else say her name. The name she had always called herself, even while alone. To hear another voice speak it, even if they pronounced it wrong. Perhaps it would stave off Sabah, perhaps it would solidify her. Nephele did not know, but she wanted to hear another say it.

All except one, that I chose alone. The wolves here know me as Sabah. I’ve been called many things. But I define myself by the name Nephele.
