”Are you okay?”

Words she did not want to hear. She understood the concern, but then again, she was afraid. Yes, afraid. Afraid Nyra wouldn’t understand, that Nyra would hate her for it, that Nyra would feel repelled by the way her mind worked. She saw the past like it was the present because of the things she had seen, done – killed.

”Sometimes – “ She began. Then she shook her head. ”After” She announced. After the spar she would tell her, after the fighting she would let Nyra in on what was going on in her head. She composed herself and watched Nyra. Waited. Carefully she moved forward, circling and then she bit forward, not her most powerful bite, this was not war, this was not someone she was supposed to kill. She wanted her fangs around her front leg to tilt her over. Not an elegant move, but effective if she could get Nyra off balance.
