He couldn't help the nerves that rose as they got closer to the mesa. He trusted Jawahir completely, but for some reason, doubt still lingered in the back of his mind. Maybe a life of serving others and never himself was to blame, or maybe he was just too jaded to let himself fully believe things would be different. Regardless, he tried to push it away and focus on meeting this Pharaoh his companion had told him about. 

The man was waiting for them when they arrived, strutting forward to greet Jawahir with an embrace. The greeting eased his nerves some, as did the heated look Sayf received from the striking man. He was handsome, and his eyes drew the slave in, his own gaze inviting as he looked up to Ramesses. He dipped his head as they were introduced. Jawahir speaks highly of you, he said first. Perhaps I can come to know you just as well? His tone was soft and persuasive, his body language inviting. It was a familiar dance for Sayf, one that was comfortable and welcome.
