He watched her go, resisting the urge to snap at her flank as she passed. His eyes remained on her for quite a while as she continued on to...wherever she was going.
More and more certainly, Ratio knew where he was going. He had been losing his will to travel since meeting the red-eyed male at the strange boulder. He'd pressed on but the drive was no longer in him.
He glanced out at the open sea, smelling the salt on the breeze, and turned inland.
