Ratio felt a hum of happiness at Ashlar's acceptance, pleased to stay with the man a little while longer. The patrol would mean less pressure and his mind could settle. He wouldn't make a mistake or misstep today. Maybe next time, it would be easier to remain in check. Part of him wanted that to be false but he didn't think about it right then.

Ashlar bounded off and Ratio, not quite as playful but happy to show some of his enthusiasm on his sleeves this day, loped after him with his tongue lolled out in a slightly goofy grin. His strife was forgotten for now, an electric feeling in his veins as he followed dutifully after Ashlar.
