Too leery of the rushing waters to place himself near enough to look down at the water below, Lycabas was grateful to see a small clan of figures ahead. It was a good distraction, so long as they did not chase him away like some of the others. Though cautious from these encounters, the thickset boy was not afraid to continue trying his luck. At least, not in the same sense as he was afraid of the water.
