Since Samani had left and Kukutux's paws were busy with raising a new litter of Moonglow children, Kausiut had nearly ceased to socialize with other people altogether. Hardly anyone ever stopped by her small home on the outskirts of the village and, even if they did or she happened to cross paths with other villager, she would quietly nod in acknowledgment but move on to her own business. She found comfort in the silence and solitude, eventually revelled in it.
Her days were filled with simple activities and joys, free of the burden to communicate, to attempt to fit in and align. She was content to be in her own company and grew to like it more and more with every passing day. It felt as if, where she was unable to connect with the people, the world without them was far more welcoming and easygoing. Now with the snow and ice gone, Kausiut was more eager to make brief trips in the surrounding areas and she found particular liking to the wide open fields at the foot of the Ouroborous spine that offered her a good view of the flatlands around her.
Here she lied down to spend hours on end, observing the landscape and never tiring of it.
