As Ash Star had asked, Ksura caught a rabbit and left it at the altar in the woods, where remains of other offerings caught his eye. The hairs along the back of his neck prickled, though whether it was because of the presence of something divine or at the smell decaying flesh, he couldn’t tell.
He placed the rabbit as he had been instructed and paused a moment as if expecting some sort of miracle. He was satisfied with the silence that greeted him; the voices of the Gods would find an easier channel through Ash Star, anyway.
Feeling accomplished, he turned on his heel and left, to search for a meal that he and Ash Star could share.
