Might be contagious anyway. Shadess murmurs under her breath as she is corrected and she couldnt help but continue to poke the bear - or, poke the sea snake. 

Oh. Well, that's good then. While she sounded so nonchalant, Shadess was actually happy in knowing that it wouldn't last. At least, when Shadess ate some things she shouldn't it those early stages, usually throwing up and then sleeping away in the den for a day or two did the trick. Shadess was better with not wanting to put everything she saw in her mouth now. 

Maman said dere is lots of food in de waters. Some looks gross but is good. Some looks good but is very bad. So surely, she just got confused which was which.
