Angel Oak was less cautious than her sister. True, she had never left home before, either — but for this reason, she had only ever known safety and bliss. She had no notion that things might be different elsewhere, or that she might have led a very privileged and idealistic life compared to many of her age mates. So she held a similar hope to the one that Ponderosa voiced, but very little of the initial underlying nerves.
She was too excited to speak, too. She agreed with a vigorous nod and the frantic thrashing of her tail.
"Can we go explore?" she asked, dancing in a quick circle to expel some of her nervous energy. She felt plenty old enough to handle being polite to strangers, these days.
