His heart wished to sing, now having been blessed with the gift of his sister. Yet, his voice did not rise in song, and tears still rolled from his eyes. Tears of happiness, and tears grief.
Peace, if only temporary, washed over him now, as his sister embraced him, and he embraced her. They remained there, and silently, he praised the Lord, for bringing His child peace in this turmoil. Light in the valley of the shadows.
She did not speak, nor did he, not until they let go of each other, and his broken gaze found her golden. “I will tell you, Adah.” He whispered, his voice cracking, “In time, you will know.” “But for now, stay by my side. I wish to listen to the ocean sing.”
Then, he turned, and returned to his spot on the sand, curling up to look out at the island.
