"People have memories, I do not think places do," she shook her head, pondering this for a while, her gaze focused at something invisible above Sobeille's head. A moment of silence followed, during which it felt as if the girl was not really present, then in a blink of an eye it was gone and she looked at her companion again. 

"People make places important and make them alive. But I do not think it works the other way round. Well... it feeds you, but I do not think it has a conscience of its own," she said. "At least... I have not felt it, but maybe you have," she looked at the other girl expectantly, realizing that her knowledge of, how life and the world worked was far from comprehensive.
