her response came in the form of a chuff and a shrug of her shoulder, and tvar found himself nodding faintly in agreement. a quiet patrol wasn’t something he minded, either. it was steady work, and steadiness suited him. his blue eyes lingered on her for a moment longer before flicking back to the path ahead.

he didn’t expect much in the way of conversation, knowing the limits of communication, but that didn’t bother him. walking the borders alongside her felt natural enough, even in silence. every so often, he’d glance her way.
