He only offered a weak smile in response. It was good that he was here. 

His smile faded though, seeing the young wolf so dejected. They'd find her. 

He'd gladly walk with him back to the den, both because his paws were sore from the long day, and also because it apparently was no longer safe for them to travel alone, and the last thing he wanted was another wolf missing. 

"Sure, kid. I'll try to keep up," he added, a new grin crossing his face. The search would continue bright and early.
