All Welcome
I did a fair bit of power-playing here, so please let me know if I need to adjust anything. Any and all are welcome!

It wasn’t her father who found them at the borders but Towhee. Treepie bowed her head to her great grandmother, then explained what the three of them (@Alaric, Tikaani and herself) were doing here. There was a lot of uncertainty in her heart which showed on her face, though the eldest Redhawk warmly welcomed them. She shrugged off the quiet apology Tiuttuk offered as they turned to climb the caldera’s exterior slope.

Yellow eyes flicked upward as they ascended, catching a glimpse of Wyvern flapping along overhead. When they reached the crest, Pie’s gaze dropped and she audibly gasped. It was no wonder her taataa—and the ancestors before him—had chosen this place. It was at once a paradise and a fortress.

Towhee made to lead them downhill now, then across the territory to something called the Hobbit Hole. She pointed it out and Pie could see its large mouth all the way from here. That was where they would find @Killdeer, Amalia and their young puppies, she knew. She didn’t feel ready, though she sucked in a breath, looked to her companions for comfort and fell into step to their destination.

Wyvern dropped down and perched in a tree that grew at the top of the hillock over the family’s lair as they arrived. Treepie saw Towhee notice and explained that the hawk had been following her for quite some time now. She asked whether the aged Redhawk might be able to identify her species. It had been difficult enough figuring out the bird’s given name.

“I’m pretty sure,” Towhee said slowly, clearly thinking out loud as a strange light flickered in her orange eyes, “that she’s a nightjar.” Her great grandmother drew a visible breath, shaking her head lightly and motioning toward the Hobbit Hole. “Speaking of brothers, you have one to meet. A sister too.”

Although the reference earned a puzzled look from Tiuttuk, she bobbed her head and stepped tentatively toward the doorway.
