She saw that the blind she-wolf appeared unharmed, relief flooding her briefly before her gaze snapped to Sam, and horror swallowed her whole.

He was in terrible shape, his body wracked with violent tremors, and even through her fog of pain, she could tell he was seizing. Tears sprang to her eyes, spilling down her bruised cheeks as she watched him struggle, helpless and frantic.
