Raindrop emerged from the den, her presence alone a great comfort.

He shook his head at her question, gaze moving to his paws. I had a nightmare, that's all. He responded. But had it been a nightmare if everything felt so real? I know what happened to my mom now. He felt no need to hide these things from Raindrop.

She's dead, she's not coming back.

It hurt to realise just how relieved he was to say it out loud. Like he was finally recieving permission to move on.
