Moonspear the glitches

They soon lapsed into a companionable silence broken only by the sounds of tearing and chewing tough meat. Kira didn’t complain about the texture, so Treepie didn’t call attention to it. She stared out over the vista, watching the shadows lengthen until the sun slipped behind the peak at their backs and fully cloaked the wilderness in dusky tones.

After finishing her share of the food, Treepie licked her paws clean, then arched her head to groom some dried blood from her chest. She finished by running her tongue over her chops to get rid of any last crumbs or drops of blood. It hadn’t been her tastiest meal, though she was satisfied and would go to bed with a full stomach.

I won’t be gone long, just a day or so, she broke the silence to share. Sometime after I get back, we should get together again and chat.
