Things were going well enough, and Ludo beamed when Valiant promised him he could have a go at the elk.

It took some time, but the older males managed to weaken the cow enough that Ludo felt confident giving it a try. He followed Valiant's instructions as carefully as always, never holding on long enough that she could get a hit on him. It was a good lesson, but in the end it was up to the adults to finish her off.
