Having not heard the other lupine approach, Kove was slightly startled to hear a voice ring out. The words were far from being that of encouragement, yet the brute found his gaze turning to see who had spoken them. He hadn't expected to see any others near during his small trek, yet the thought now seemed irrational. Of course there would be others lingering near by, though being approached by another had not crossed his mind. His coppery eyes met the form of the other brute, and his head cocked to the side slightly, as if he were a confused dog.
"Even with your doubts, it'd still bother me to not at least try," he stated, his head turning back around to see where he was placing each of his paws.
Letting the words of a mere stranger veer him off the path he'd set in mind was nothing the timber brute was familiar with. He'd been chased away from places during his time as a lone wolf, but never had he left without a threat being presented. A once over of this newly appeared canine provided no immediate threats to him, which he was glad for, so leaving his place was not an option.
"A part of you must believe yourself capable of climbing up it, else why would you be here?" Kove took another step forward, lifting himself up and onto a smaller ledge. "And if you could, why believe another to be incapable of such a task?"
He was curious, as could easily be seen, which made him speak. Speaking more so than usual was not completely unusual for him as of late, but still enough to cause his mind to remind him that silence could occasionally be bliss.
