I will gladly take credit for Remedy's hilarious post!

There was a lot of commotion going on around the chosen elk. Wolves weaved in and out, each doing their part to slowly wear down the doe until she could be finished off. As the bodies of his fellow hunters zigged and zagged around him, Elwood backed off several times, taking time to catch his breath before joining the fray once more.

Though the task was time consuming, he became so focused that the hours seemed much shorter. When Peregrine began to make the final moves, Elwood perked up. He angled alongside the doe, opposite Peregrine and Somnia, and heard -- rather than saw -- the Alpha's actions. There was the sound of tearing flesh, followed shortly by a thud and then, further behind him, coughing. There wasn't time to glance over his shoulder, so Elwood forged ahead.

He tore at the elk's shoulder again when he got the chance, managing to create an injury similar to the one Peregrine had inflicted on her hindquarters. With a chunk of meat in his mouth, Elwood dropped back, allowing his fellow hunters the opportunity to seize a bite of their own or to attempt to bring her down.
